Germany's Parquet Recordings returns with head honcho Solee AKA Normen Flaskamp firmly at the controls. Solee has been a firm favourite in clubland since the release of his massive ‘Timba' single last year which saw pretty much every A list Dj out there lending their support , now he unleashes two huge new cuts supplied with a stunning remix from Marascia. Opening track ‘Timbabwe' is a journey into stripped and minimal tech house with a little of the trademark Solee melody and a hint of the progressive vibe about it. Solid and relentless this is a surefire floorfiller with a warm and organic sound that is bound to find favour across the board. ‘Open Air' is an unusual but highly effective track that draws much of its feel from its unusual ¾ time signature. The stuttered rhythm provides a perfect bed for the rich electronic soundscape that Solee weaves, creating a hypnotic wash of pads, sweeps and synths that instantly transports the listener to a twisted 4am place. The remix of ‘Open air' comes courtesy of Marascia, a producer who has been releasing cracking dance music for almost 2 decades and has recorded for labels such as International Deejay Gigolos, Systematic and Boxer. Here he turns on the techno tap and delivers a Cologne inspired rework that takes no prisoners. At over twelve and a half minutes long this is a true epic slice of twisted techno wonderment. Solee's one man show of impeccable production continues as the man builds the reputation of his Parquet label into something very special indeed.
