The eagerly awaited 4th album from Club des Belugas. This beautifully produced CD comes packed with 16 stunning jazz flavoured tracks including 2 bonus tracks: a re-mix by the multi talented Tape Five and a re-sing (which means different lyrics and different melody on the same musical playback) by London based cool school jazz singer Iain Mackenzie, from the album. We don't know exactly, but we presume that this is the first re-sing ever done in music history; looking on Google no entries were found either, so we think Club des Belugas has now created a new word. The following guest musicians appear on SWOP: - New York Jazzsinger Dean Bowman (Blue Note Records, recorded with Lester Bowie, John Scofield, Michael Brecker, Don Byron…., Pop-Diva Madonna calls Dean Bowman "The Voice of God" ), - Swedish vocalist Anna-Luca, who is working in the triphop & electro genre. She is also working on 3 different albums at the moment. - London Jazzsinger Iain Mackenzie (recorded with Eddie Roberts, The New Mastersounds, Dollar Brand aka Abdullah Ibrahim…), - Multi award winning Californian jazz impresario Brenda Boykin is back too on 4 tracks. - Fred Astaire, whose 60 year old hit "Puttin' on the Ritz" is finally suitable for the clubs with the „Club des Belugas Remix" - the trumpet player Reiner Winterschladen (NDR Big Band, Nighthawks) - the trombone player Philipp Schug (Club des Belugas Orchestra) - the horn section by Greg Adams' Big Band Brass - the drummer Dirk Sengotta (Gloria Gaynor, Rufus Thomas, The Scorpions) Club Des Belugas have stepped up to the plate and pulled out another hit album, with their tracks being compiled on every illustrious compilation you can think of (220 so far) like Stéphane Pompougnac's Hotel Costes, Jose Padilla's Man Ray, Claude Challe's "Just good Music", Saint Germain des Prés Café, Brazilectro… to name just a few and now their music is even being used on hit shows like "So you think you can Dance" and TV series "CSI Miami/CSI New York" out in the USA, …well, this album does it again! By the way, SWOP stands for "SWing and POP"
