The central theme of "Soilbleed" is realisation of mortality, strife related emotions and the beast of war that lives in mankind. The symbolism of bleeding soil represents an omen: For every man comes his time. The title, "Soilbleed", derives from a phenomena perceived during the trench battles of the first world war: "At times the earth would get so dense with blood, that it would seem as if the earth itself was bleeding."
