Please welcome Sebastian Roya on Meerestief! The 23-year-old Spaniard has so far drawn attention to himself with releases on labels like Connaisseur (Distancias De Noche). The highly talented man from the Canaries began his career aged 17 but is already one of the most popular DJs on the Canaries. Clubs on the continent have taken notice and the people at meerestief have also discovered his skills as a producer. A1 justifies why we have signed this jewel. „Chico Sencillo" is a track that could have been tailor made for meerestief and shows Roya in a typical light. The tune flows quietly and steadily with a gentle kick and the individual elements have been thoughtfully combined. The track comes into its own without the use of any cheap tricks. Sometimes a „Chico Sencillo" can be enough – a simple boy who enjoys his long DJ sets. „Chico Sencillo" could play an important part in one of those sets. Sebastian Roya is also there, if you're into something a bit more effect laden. „En Effectivo", comes across all threatening and broody with its edgy kick drum, endless reverb drenched percussion pattern and its dark melody, but remains dance floor compatible all the same. A remix by Luca Bacchetti from Italy, turns Roya's EP into a southern european alliance. Bacchetti, who has released on Wagon Repair and Tenax, has added more energy and an uneasy darkness to „Chico Sencillo". It is straight tunnel techno with a strong pull, that is doffing its cap to Robert Hood.
