Anybody who has heard any of J Alexander's DJ sets over the last year will know that Alex Q's productions feature frequently in them. It was no surprise then when J Alexander asked him to remix one of his own productions. Made nearly exclusively on an 20 year old DX21 synth, this you may think would make it sound like another retro track… this is not the case though, with layers of pad's and percussion over a wonky deep sub bass Phased is set to be a massive contemporary tech-house track. Alex Q works his musical magic on the remix, dropping the pace and bringing out the sound of the lush pad work. Alex adds some gorgeous trade-mark strings and dreamy vocal cuts which fit perfectly over the deep, deep bass. The result is a striking remix, which is wonderfully produced with layers of warm sounds so deep you could find yourself completely emerged in them.
