English Version Walter Ercolino and Daniela Stickroth, the people behind meerestief launched their third label moonPool in the spring of 2008 with the EP "L'aurora" by Niggemann & Poppke, on which they pay tribute to their love of soulful House music. MoonPool fills the gap between meerestief and its cool, functional, minimalist-technoid approach and meerestief ltd with its emotional Electronica designs that sometimes extend beyond the confines of the club world. Issue 002 by Hans Thalau from Stuttgart enables moonPool's true character even more to shine through. He deftly uses the most important components for an organic Deep House number on the title track "Lassur", which leans heavily towards the contemporary without losing respect for tradition. A warm bass line, the deepest chords available, rustling hi-hats, a fat snare and voluminous throbbing sounds. MoonPool was able to attract Scot Milton Jackson who is one of the spear heads of the new House movement, for a remix of "Lassur". His tune "Ghost In My Machine", became a club hit on the seminal Freerange label lately. There is more swing on his version from the word go and he combines compressed chords, melody and rhythmic elements inexorably to multiple peak time breaks using all his experience. A serious contender at the anthem awards. Thalau uses the B side for a nine minute journey through dark chasms on the outer periphery of House. Whereas "Zorro" is a hybrid that touches on the monotony of Techno with its repetitive approach but in its heart of hearts, i.e. in its groove, it really is House. A case of dancing into the morning. The vinyl version of the EP "Lassur", when released digitally, will be supplemented by two smoother tracks 'Tamanda" and "If You Feel".
