Minimood return with their latest 12" single offering for all those who share VINYL LOVE, this time from Kompakt producer Heib who offers up two sterling slices of minimal techno backed by outstanding remixes from Heinrichs & Hirtenfellner and Lula Circus... Berlin / Lausanne based Minimood have build a solid reputation over the last 4 years, releasing tracks and remixes from the likes of Rick Wade, Gregorythme, Mark Henning and So Inagawa. Now the imprint has teamed up with producer Jochen Heib AKA Heib, a man whose music has graced labels such as Kompakt and International Deejay Gigolo as well as his own Senior Solution Management. Heib has been DJ'ing since the early nineties and has brought all his experience to bear on his musical output since he started releasing in 2002. Heib's latest offering is the ‘In the Dark EP' which kicks off with lead track ‘Shadows', a taught, rolling slice of techno / house fusion with an intense, attention grabbing vocal. The blend of edgy, emotive synth lines, tight drum patterns and electro inspired vocals make for a heady mix and a track that is instantly memorable. The original of ‘Shadows' is followed by a remix from the excellent Heinrichs & Hirtenfellner who take things into hypnotic techno territory with a heads down rolling groove and understated melodic elements that make this mix an instant winner. The second original track from Heib comes in the form of ‘Silver Mine', a stripped, deep techno workout with a dark minimal feel. The track rides a single note bassline and tight drums, subtly adding layers and lines to build an intense vibe that has you gripped tighter and tighter as the record progresses, great stuff. Finally Lula Circus takes the remix reins, stripping back ‘Silver Mine' and creating a tracky and percussive version that perfectly closes this superb package. Another great single from the ever consistent Minimood.
