Rea K - Biography
Born in Sri Lanka, grown up in Italy,Rea K is a young talented artist who isn't only a Djane.She's also an electric violinist, keyboarder, singer and electronic music producer. The music passion starts in Sri-Lanka,still a child she started with traditional ethnic instruments and singing lessons and later after she moved to Italy, going ahead with piano and violin. She was influenced by many genres of music from Ethnic traditional to Jazz, from Rock to Metal.Her first contact with electronic music occurred when she was travelling on a train and met WM.Since then, they have been composing together and the result is a new unusual progect with glacial electrominimal grooves and hot strings and melodies.Rea K performed in the most important italian electronic festival (Electrowave/ItaliaWave Festival),and since then she's spreading her music in many different clubs and events sharing the stage with names like F.Kevorkian,Deep dish,Cassius,Noze, Dj Raresh, Zip and many more.Rea K in May 2008 released on the reknowed Claudio Coccoluto' imusic label her first ep called: REA K ep top 10 best seller on juno for several weeks;then she released two tracks 777(charted by Sis and supported by many more djs) and Apprendista Stregone on MINISKETCH ,the label of Davide Squillace.In 2010 Rea K create BLACK AND WHITE RECORDS ,her own label born to manage and release directly her music to the world.Black and White records release the first ep called: BW01 Freedom,best seller on Juno for several weeks. She also released on Black and White Records ,her first 10 tracks album "K88" :dirty unconventional beats mixed with deep melodies and best underground tribal grooves,Supported and played by : Sis,Phonique,Luca bacchetti,Ludovic vendi,Giancarlo lanza(Titbit),Danilo schneider,PaulCart(Off) and many more.
